There are two popular methods that you can easily use;
· one folder that contain all your forms and
forms are prefixed with the type of contest (daily, weekly, monthly or unlimited)
· all the forms are classed into subfolders that contain
all the forms.
Prefix
The Prefix convention used to name the saved forms can be anything you want. For example,
you can use the "-" to have the daily, weekly, monthly and unlimited contests sorted at the beginning
of the list. Following this, a word indicates the occurence of this form
(Day, Week, Month, Unl for Unlimited in this example).
Example:
- Day - 05-06-30 Bahamas Trip
- Week - 06-03-03 Home Theater
- Unl - 05-03-04 Car
- Month - 05-09-10 DishWasher
You can add an "N" at the end of the word telling the occurrence to specify that this contest
cannot be entered automatically. Indeed, some forms need to be submitted manually.
For example, if the form is in Flash, or needs two(2) clicks on two(2) different pages or
RoboForm cannot find the "Submit" button. If you can submit the form with the "Login"
or "Goto and Submit" button in RoboForm, this form will also be submitted correctly with
RoboForm Companion. Moreover, RoboForm Companion uses the RoboForm engine to submit forms.
Example:
- DayN - 05-08-30 Mexico Trip
- WeekN - 06-05-03 DVD Player
Folders
Very simple, probably the best way to class your forms. All you have to do is to save the contest in the right folder.
For contest that cannot be entered automatically with RoboForm Companion, you can just put these contest into
the root folder or put a prefix telling that this contest is not automatic.
Example:
N - 05-08-30 Mexico Trip
After
the second "-", the expiration date is in either in the "YYYY-MM-DD" or "YY-MM-DD" format where
"YYYY" and "YY" is the year in four(4) or two(2) digits, "MM" is the month in two(2) digits and
"DD" represent the day in two(2) digits. With this expiration date, RoboForm Companion can
automatically delete expired forms with or without asking you.
See Ask for confirmation before deleting
expired forms for more details.
The last
string is simply a name for the form. This syntax for the fields
is not mandatory, it is just an example and you can adapt it to your needs. You can also
change the order of the fields.
On certain occasions, certain pages may contain more than one submit button, such
as in the example above. Roboform Companion will pop either of the following error messages:
-"Unable to find to form to submit"
-"More than one form was found in the page"
-"More than one submit button was found in the web page"
When this happens, follow these steps:
-First, reload the page with the refresh button in Internet Explorer for example.
-Then, fill all the required fields manually.
-Finally, save the form in RoboForm and try to "Goto and Submit" or "Login" the new saved page.
In most cases, this will work. Don't try to erase these unwanted fields manually. In some cases it may work, but
on occassion, it will fail.
